Trucking, trades work in general, it’s a really great alternative if something like college doesn’t seem like something that you’re into or you can’t find something you’re into. Trucking is the type of job where if you’re good at it, you’ll always have a job. You can make good money just driving.

I thought it was gonna be easy like driving a car but it really felt like I was inside of an 18-wheeler. It gives a realistic view of what it’s like. It kind of gives you a little bit of foresight as to what to expect before you actually get into one of the rigs.

I think they should consider trucking because going to a four-year school is not for everyone and it’s a trade. Just where you live at don’t mean that you have to stay there. As you become a truck driver you get to drive all over the United States and you get to see different parts.

This is the only thing that I have done that I have enjoyed, and I’ve been doing it most of my adult life. The only reason I’m still doing it is because it’s a life-changing experience for a lot of my people. When they graduate, they can go out and change their family tree.

I know there’s a lot of money in the industry, and I’ve observed that there’s a lot of women that are getting in the game. They’re driving trucks, dumpster trucks, bulldozers, and I think that’s empowering. I really like it.
